Waiau Downs is a 1000 acre sheep farm that has 5000 sheep, 20 cattle, 20 wapati deer, 6 farm dogs, a horse, a donkey, a pet pig, hens, pet lambs, and a friendly lab dog. Our friendly staff will ensure you have a great time at Waiau Downs.
FARM TOUR
Transport in 4x4 vehicle with personalized commentary. Be involved with the movement of up to 5000 thousand sheep. You will be able to pat the pet deer in the paddock with other deer. A chance to ride a horse or a donkey. Farm dogs in action. Cows being milked. Feeding pet lambs. Sheep shearing and wool handling.
Have a go at sheep shearing yourself.
