Take a step back in time. A great stopping place as part of the local Heritage Trail. The Templeton Family owned and operated a Flax Mill on this very site. Your time here will reveal how this happened in the "good old days" and enlighten you to the wonderful way flax can be used in this day and age.
A 9 minute DVD aids in understanding the process required to transform flax to a valuable and useable commodity.
Then guests are treated to a working demonstration of the Mill in action.
A valuable outing and learning exercise for the whole family.
If you are in Riverton - Mark this spot in your plans as a MUST DO before you leave the area.

If you are a descendant of William and Jessie Templeton who settled at Otaitai Bush in 1911 you may like to attend a celebration acknowledging 100 years on the land. This event takes place at Otaitai Bush on 15/16/17 April 2011.
