Rakatu Wetlands
 

The Rakatu Wetlands are located in the Waiau River valley along the Southern Scenic Route, between Tuatapere and Manapouri. These restored wetlands provide an opportunity to view wildlife and to learn about NZ's fisheries. Take some time and explore the wetlands using the extensive network of walking tracks and see a restoration project in action. Access is free. Enjoy.
