A short walk through ancient podocarp forest along the banks of the Alton Burn to the Tuatapere Cemetery.

Within minutes of walking into the bush you will sense another world far away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. You will become absorbed in the relaxing sounds of the forest. Sense the ancient wonder of the forest, with vast masses of lichens hanging from the massive trees, carpeted with ferns and mosses and unreal fungus life.

Exit the forest to the historical and well kept Tuatapere Cemetery where you can browse the history of the area, or simply enjoy a stroll around the grounds. Re-enter the forest to continue the loop track back to the carpark.
